Job Description Your daily tasks & responsibilities Specialist responsible for creating the initial, prototype versions of aircraft seats and their components. This involves translating design concepts into tangible, functional prototypes, allowing for testing, refinement, and ultimately, the creation of the final, luxurious seating for high-end aircraft. Translating Design: Work with designers, engineers, and clients to understand the desired aesthetics, comfort, and functionality of the seats Material Selection and Fabrication: Experiment with different materials, like leather, fabrics and foams, shape and combine them to create prototypes that meet the design specifications 3D Modeling and Prototyping: Knowledge in 3D modeling software to create digital template Testing and Refinement: Conduct testing on the prototypes, including comfort assessments and fit checks, to identify areas for improvement and ensure the final product meets the highest standards Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with other team members, including designers, engineers and production staff, to ensure the prototype is accurately translated into a final, manufacturable product Problem Solving: Play a vital role in identifying and addressing any design or manufacturing challenges that arise during the prototyping phase Ensuring Highest Quality: Ensure the seats meet the demanding standards of luxury aviation, including comfort, durability and aesthetics The expertise you have & skills you bring Upholstery apprenticeship completed or equivalent certificate or diploma Working experience in a similar position (5+ years) Experience in Aviation Industry as a plus Ability to read and understand technical drawings / technical instructions and technical processes Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout all duties Good English skills (verbal and written), French as a plus Strong organization & communication skills Flexibility, ability to work in a team What we offer (among other things) Working in an owner-managed, young and dynamic company with hands-on mentality Multifaceted, challenging and responsible position within an exclusive environment Attractive employment conditions and social benefits like 5 weeks of holidays (6 weeks as of 50 years) Free on-site English lessons and individual further training and development opportunities Subsidised meals in our canteen, as well as parking spaces (or free shuttle bus transport) and other employee discounts (Fleets, Bars & Restaurants etc.) In case of relocation: support with relocation / work permit Corporate events like our famous annual Christmas Party and the summer BBQ Additional information General working place: Hangar facilities at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg Apply Does your profile match our requirements? Job Description Your daily tasks & responsibilities Work in accordance with applicable procedure as per Design Organisation Exposition (DO-Handbook), Production Organisation Exposition (PO-Handbook), Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and other AMAC Specifications. Ensure correct consideration and application of Certification Basis, Rules and Regulations, Means of Compliance and Interpretations in the engineering output for the product, system or installation designed. Ensure adequate communication and liaison internally, especially with the Engineering Team, Project management as well as with external Third Parties. Act as Mechanical Production Engineer – Work Preparation Group. Design and engineering within the scope of work of the Design Organisation. Production work preparation and support (example: implementation of PCR production change request). Processing and administration of engineering manufacturing data (WO in AMOS, Engineering tracking tool update, archiving of WO and Manufacturing tracing tag). Administration and interface of material information (Materials ordering, Standard Parts, Quantity management) and ordering interface to the logistics department. Supporting the Mechanical Production Engineering Manager in administrative and organizational tasks. Engineering liaison and support. Production liaison and support. Checking, processing and administration of engineering manufacturing data (drawings and Engineering Change Order. Follow up of Workpackage / WOs closure (issuance of EASA form 1, statement of conformity). Production Project plan hours. The expertise you have & skills you bring Profound understanding of production planning and preparation. Minimum 2 years’ experience within a production environment preferably within aviation. Aviation / Engineering degree or similar qualification in addition will be an advantage. Computer literate with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point). Experience with an ERP system, preferably AMOS. Good communication skills in English; German or French in addition will be an advantage. Pro-active team player with an project oriented functioning.
