Ridgeline Discovery is looking for an HR Manager (60-100%). Ridgeline Discovery , a Versant Ventures Discovery Engine, creates and operates Versant-financed innovative biotech companies in partnership with entrepreneurs, industry, and leading academics across Europe. In recent years, Ridgeline has assembled an international team of >50 highly experienced drug discovery and industry professionals and built and operated multiple new successful companies; these companies have raised significant funds through Series B, IPO and an exit through a trade sale. We are looking for a highly motivated HR Manager to support an early-stage biotech company. The HR Manager is responsible for the entire employee life cycle from talent acquisition to departure, including all administrative matters. For this position we are looking for a person who works independently, has a hands-on and proactive approach and is familiar with Swiss labor law and local requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for all HR activities of an early-stage biotech company First point of contact for operational and process-oriented advice to employees & managers on insurances, payroll, work permits, labor law, HR processes, HR systems, parental leave, illness, accidents Evaluation and implementation of an HRIS Leading the recruitment & selection process including hiring manager briefing, drafting job descriptions, advertisement, interviews, reference calls, salary comparisons, preparing offer letters & contracts, salary negotiations Processing of HR administration from on-boarding to off-boarding Interfacing with third parties on areas such as visas, payroll, benefits, social insurances Handling time and absence management such as holidays, sickness, accidents, parental leave, military service Handling of all payroll activities in cooperation with the external service provider Implementing new guidelines and procedures Managing HR systems and databases Handling general correspondence in HR matters QUALIFICATIONS Qualified HR specialist with a federal certificate (HR Fachfrau/-mann mit eidg. Fachausweis) and/or a degree in Business Administration (FH, university) specializing in Human Resources Substantial experience in a similar position, ideally in a medium-sized company (10-200 employees) and in the biotech/pharma industry Knowledge of Swiss labor law and local requirements, e.g. social security, pension fund Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English Service-oriented, trustworthy personality with a quick perception and an efficient and precise way of working High degree of personal responsibility and quality awareness Proactive and customer-focused mindset WHAT WE CURRENTLY OFFER Offices: Our well-equipped laboratories and offices are located at the Tech Park, a premier address for early-stage start-ups in Basel.
