Your role

Are you interested in the risk management and tax oversight of financial delegates? Do you have the curiosity and drive to master all aspects of this role?

We are looking for a Tax Specialist to:

• oversee and monitor custodians, fund administrator and third party tax advisors to ensure consistency and accuracy
• analyze potential foreign withholding tax reclaims and opportunities to maximize fund returns
• respond to client advisor and client tax queries during the fund lifecycle
• supervise the setup and documentation of products with regard to tax
• conduct reviews to ensure completeness of tax-relevant adjustments and performing tax law compliance checks, verifying accounting figures align with associated regulations
• perform investor eligibility checks for withholding tax optimized funds with limited investor circle to Swiss pension schemes
• ensure FATCA/CRS compliance and documentation of funds.

Your team

You will be working in the Tax Oversight team in Basel. We are a diverse and open minded team that is constantly looking for improvements and solutions and is eager to learn.

Please note this role is available for a fixed-term contract (6 months).

Your expertise

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience (tax, fund accounting, audit)
• relevant academic background, such as a degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field
• strong Swiss and European Tax background combined with a very good understanding of double tax treaties and international tax principles
• ability to resolve and respond to complex queries in a timely manner with a careful and exact approach to allocated tasks
• keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues
• collaborative personality, with the ability to complete tasks independently
• fluent German and English; knowledge of French will be an asset.
