• To further strengthen our global Technical Operations organization and creating business impact, we are recruiting a Head Global Manufacturing Science & Technology platforms who builds and leads the global MS&T platforms capability across the Bachem Group ensuring strong technical leadership
• This role is created in a build-up phase, offering the opportunity to shape mandate, governance, and operating model
• Define and execute the global MS&T Platforms strategy for peptides and oligonucleotides, including a multi-year platform and capability roadmap
• Act as an enabling catalyst for the implementation of new functions in the areas of Technology Lead/Owner and Operational Readiness Lead
• Conceptual development of the Technology Owner principle together with Engineering within the Bachem Group
• Establish global technical standards, platform governance, and common ways of working (decision forums, documentation standards, escalation paths, and knowledge management)
• Drive technology transfer and lifecycle stewardship principles across platforms, ensuring robust process understanding, change control alignment, and sustainable GMP performance
• Advance innovation and technical excellence across the Group, balancing standardization with agility and cutting-edge technology deployment, including close collaboration and governance alignment with R&D, IT, and Engineering
• Co-create innovation governance bodies and actively participate in prioritization, portfolio steering, and technical decision-making
• Strengthen cross-site networking and systematic knowledge transfer, particularly within Technical Operations, to accelerate best-practice rollout and avoid duplication
• Closely partner with R&D and Engineering on CAPEX-driven expansions and major change initiatives, defining technical requirements, design inputs, and commissioning-to-operations expectations
• Build the MS&T Platforms organization and establish an effective operating cadence (KPIs where reasonable, governance routines, stakeholder engagement, and talent development)
• Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory stakeholders to ensure inspection readiness and consistent GMP execution across sites
• Within the Bachem network: clarify and assume responsibility for business processes (such as ProcessFit2Plant) as well as for standardization workflows, e.g. in the area of primary packaging materials

Your Profile:

• University degree (Master or PhD) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
• At least 10 years of professional experience in pharma or CDMO environments with progressive responsibility in MS&T, technical operations, or platform/technology leadership roles
• Strong exposure to peptide manufacturing; oligonucleotide experience is a significant advantage
• Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous build-up environments and to create structure, clarity, and governance
• Demonstrated cross-functional experience across Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality/Regulatory, and IT in a global/multi-site context
• Strong MS&T fundamentals (process understanding, scale-up/scale-down concepts, validation readiness, lifecycle management, troubleshooting)
• Solid understanding of GMP requirements and technical compliance expectations in regulated manufacturing
• Experience translating innovation into deployable, standardized platforms across multiple sites
• Familiarity with data-driven performance monitoring and technical risk management
• Excellent written and spoken English (C1) is mandatory. Fluent German to interact on the ground in our Bubendorf site is a benefit
• Willingness to accommodate global collaboration and travel of approx. 20% irregularly depending on project pipeline and stages
